Build Your First App

About the Class

Learn how modern apps come to life by building your own from the ground up. This beginner-friendly class introduces rapid prototyping with v0 and Cursor, two powerful AI-assisted tools that make it easier than ever to turn an idea into a working application. Each session blends short lessons with hands-on creation so you can design a user interface, generate the code behind it, and see your app run by the end of class.

The class is designed for high school students but is open to anyone ages 13 and up, including adults who want to explore app development in a more creative and accessible way. No prior experience is required, but students will need to bring a laptop (Mac or PC).

Homeschool students who take this class along with either Build Your First Game or Learn to Code with Sports can count the two together as one credit of computer science if they attend the full semester. A syllabus is available for that purpose; contact us to request a copy before the class begins.
